Terms of Service & Privacy Policy

1. Acceptance and Eligibility

By creating an account or using Studdyco, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. You must be at least 13 years old to use Studdyco. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these terms on your behalf. We may require verification of age or parental consent at any time.

2. Account and Conduct

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You agree to use Studdyco in good faith: create and join events responsibly, treat other users with respect, and not post harmful, abusive, harassing, or illegal content. Studdyco is a peer-to-peer platform; hosts and attendees are responsible for their own conduct. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these principles.

3. Content and Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of content you create (events, cards, messages). By posting content, you grant Studdyco a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, store, and display it in connection with operating the platform. You must not upload content that infringes others' rights. We may remove content that violates these terms.

4. BuddyBucks and Cancellation

BuddyBucks are an internal platform currency, not real money. They have no cash value. When you join an event, you spend BuddyBucks. If you leave the event or the host cancels it within 60 minutes of the start time, your BuddyBucks are fully refunded. If you leave after the event has started, or more than 60 minutes before the start, no refund is applied. Hosts who cancel events receive no BuddyBucks; attendees are refunded.

5. Privacy

We collect information you provide (name, email, profile data) and usage data to operate the platform and send notifications. We do not sell your personal data. If you sign in via Google or Telegram, we receive limited profile data from those services. We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication and preferences (for example, theme choice). You can request deletion of your account and data; contact the platform administrator.

Some invitation links may create a temporary guest account so you can join a workshop or group quickly. Guest accounts can later be upgraded by adding login credentials in settings.

6. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

Studdyco is provided "as is." We do not guarantee availability, accuracy, or suitability of any content. Events and materials are created by users; we are not responsible for their quality or legality. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

7. Course Approvals and Aggregated Statistics

Users who verify an institutional (university) email may approve courses on the platform. When you approve a course, your university name may appear in aggregated, anonymized statistics visible to other users (e.g. "Approved by 3 universities"). Individual names are never shown. By approving a course, you consent to this usage. You can opt out at any time in your profile settings, which will exclude your university from future statistics.

Similarly, if you provide a company name in your profile and complete a course, your company may appear in aggregated completion statistics (e.g. "Completed by people from 5 companies"). This is opt-in and can be disabled in your profile settings.

8. Changes and Contact

We may update these terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. For questions, contact the platform administrator.

9. In-platform Calls

Studdyco may provide in-platform audio/video calls for events. These calls use third-party infrastructure (for example, LiveKit) to establish and relay real-time media. Call availability may vary by event and by region. Use of calls is subject to these terms and applicable third-party terms.
