Comparative: adjective + -er (+ als): schnell – schneller als, groß – größer (umlaut). Superlative: am + adjective + -sten (or der/die/das + -ste + Noun): am schnellsten, der schnellste Zug. Irregular: gut – besser – am besten; viel – mehr – am meisten; gern – lieber – am liebsten. At B1 you need to form and recognise these forms.
