Zustandspassiv (state passive) describes a resulting state, not the process: Die Tür ist geöffnet. (The door is open.) Das Buch ist bereits gelesen. Formation: sein (conjugated) + Partizip II. Contrast with Vorgangspassiv (process): Die Tür wird geöffnet. (The door is being opened.) B1 texts often use both; recognise the difference between "is being done" (werden) and "is done / is in that state" (sein).
