Nebensätze: obwohl, während (Subordinate Clauses) – Telc B1

obwohl (although) and während (while, whereas) introduce subordinate clauses; the verb goes to the end.

obwohl: Er geht spazieren, obwohl es regnet. (He goes for a walk although it’s raining.)
während: Während ich lese, hört sie Musik. (While I read, she listens to music.) Er arbeitet, während sie schläft. (He works while she sleeps.)

Word order: Conjunction + subject + … + verb last. Don’t confuse während (while) with während + Genitive (during): während des Urlaubs (during the holiday).
