Practical tips for the Schreiben (writing) part of Telc B1:

  1. Read the task carefully – Note how many words are required (e.g. 80–100) and what you must include (e.g. reason, date, request).

  2. Structure – Use paragraphs: greeting, introduction, main points, closing. In formal letters: Sehr geehrte/r ..., and Mit freundlichen Grüßen.

  3. Register – Formal (Sie, könnten Sie, ich würde mich freuen) vs. informal (du) depending on the task.

  4. Connect ideas – Use weil, dass, wenn, obwohl, zuerst, dann, außerdem so your text flows.

  5. Check – Reserve 2–3 minutes to check verb position (especially in Nebensätze), spelling, and that you answered all parts of the task.

Use a correction scheme (e.g. from korrektur_schema.md in prep materials) to review your own texts.
